Who is responsible
Headless Thrones is operated by Maker Frontier in Michigan, United States. Maker Frontier is responsible for the personal information we decide to collect and use through this site. Contact [email protected] about this notice or your information.
This notice covers headlessthrones.com and its publishing services. Other sites you visit through our links have their own privacy practices.
Information we handle
- Visits and security. Serving a page involves technical information such as an IP address, requested URL, browser details, time and response status. Our hosting and security providers may process this information to deliver the site, prevent abuse and investigate faults. URLs can contain the search or comparison choices you put into them.
- Your choices on this device. The model and service shortlists, a dismissed world guide, and privacy preferences are stored in your browser. A comparison URL you share contains the selected model or service identifiers. We do not treat a shortlist as a reader account.
- Optional analytics. Google Analytics 4 helps us understand visits to public pages. For a visit our delivery service identifies as U.S., readership analytics starts on unless you have a valid saved refusal or send Global Privacy Control. For other or unknown locations, we wait for your explicit analytics choice. You can turn analytics off at any time in Cookie settings. The country check is a first-party request that returns a country code; we do not save that result as your consent or send it to Google. Our page views remove query strings and fragments, omit external referrer paths, and use a fixed site title rather than private text. We do not add an email, account identifier or reader identity. Google still processes ordinary device and session information needed for analytics.
- Messages you send. If you email us, we receive your address, message and any attachments. Send only information needed for your request.
- Publishing access. Authenticated owner and editorial-agent operations can involve authorized account email addresses, agent identities, credential records, drafts, source evidence, reviews and audit records. These are separate from public browsing and are not public reader accounts.
Public pages currently have no reader registration or reader-comment submission. A chat-like article layout is a way to read published content, not a private conversation with an AI.
Why we use information
We use technical information to operate and secure the site; your saved choices to provide features you request; correspondence to answer and resolve requests; and publishing records to control access, document editorial decisions and preserve publication history. We use optional analytics to understand readership and improve the site, and permitted advertising data to support ads.
Where a data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for optional analytics and advertising that require consent; legitimate interests in operating, securing and maintaining the site and answering correspondence where appropriate; and legal obligations where applicable. We assess those interests against individual rights. Choosing not to allow optional tracking does not prevent reading the site.
Providers, analytics and ads
Our site uses Sites hosting and publishing infrastructure and Cloudflare delivery and security services. Providers process information needed to perform their services. Relevant provider notices include OpenAI privacy information and Cloudflare privacy information.
Our Google Analytics measurement ID is G-DRG85YF0CY. The site disables Google signals and ad-personalization signals in its GA4 configuration. Analytics permission does not also grant permission for advertising.
Our Google AdSense publisher ID is ca-pub-2866685166066560. Advertising has two steps. If you choose to enable it in our local settings, we connect to Google Advertising Products to load its consent framework. That connection exposes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to Google and may read existing Google cookies. Ad requests remain paused while the certified consent framework establishes the applicable permissions. The consent message identifies relevant advertising partners and purposes. If the framework is unavailable or cannot establish a valid permission state, ad requests remain paused; ad spaces may also remain empty.
We currently request nonpersonalized ads. These can still use cookies or similar technologies for ad delivery, frequency limits, fraud prevention and measurement. Google's advertising services can also use advertising cookies to personalize ads based on visits to this and other sites, but our current ad configuration does not request personalized ads. A change to that approach would require the relevant notice and permissions.
Use Cookie settings to manage this site's permissions. Turning Advertising off stops our ad requests, including advertising-related sale, sharing or targeted advertising on this browser. Where Google's US state message applies, its “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link provides an additional opt-out. A US opt-out keeps our ad requests paused; a report that European rules do not apply is not treated as a US permission decision. You can also visit Google My Ad Center for Google's personalized-ad choices or Digital Advertising Alliance choices for participating companies. Those external settings do not replace this site's controls and may apply only to the browser or account in which you use them.
Google privacy policy · How Google uses information from partner sites.
We may share information with service providers, when needed to comply with law, protect rights or investigate misuse, or as part of a genuine transfer of the site's operation subject to applicable protections. Advertising disclosures can constitute a sale, sharing or targeted advertising under some privacy laws even without a cash payment for a list of names. We do not describe all advertising data sharing as anonymous.
Public sources and sentiment evidence
Our research uses publisher documentation, public reporting and public signals about AI. Where a sentiment collection is available, the public view uses aggregate results and explains its coverage. Supporting evidence may include public post links, account identifiers or excerpts retained privately for source checking, deduplication and review. We do not publish that evidence as a directory of individual people or treat an estimated location as a verified residence.
Public availability does not remove all privacy rights. Contact us if a source record concerns you and you want us to assess its use or accuracy. We consider the request alongside legitimate reporting, verification and recordkeeping needs.
Retention and international processing
Browser preferences remain until they expire under the applicable control, you change them, or you clear site storage. The cookie notice explains the different storage types. Google and infrastructure providers apply their own configured retention and service policies; different records do not share one universal deletion deadline.
We retain correspondence for the time needed to resolve the request and follow up. We assess continued retention of security and publishing records against access control, incident investigation, source verification, publication history and legal obligations. Private drafts and supporting evidence can outlast a publication while they serve these purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details where practicable, subject to backup cycles and required preservation.
Maker Frontier operates in the United States. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where transfer safeguards are legally required, the applicable arrangement depends on the provider and processing involved. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your request; we do not promise that all information stays in your country.
Your choices and requests
You can change optional tracking permissions through Cookie settings. We honor a recognized Global Privacy Control signal by turning off both readership analytics and advertising on that browser, including advertising-related sale, sharing or targeted advertising. This is different from the older Do Not Track signal; we do not interpret Do Not Track as a substitute for the site's choices.
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. These rights have conditions and exceptions. We do not require an account to make a request, charge for an ordinary valid request, or discriminate for exercising applicable rights. Withdrawal does not undo processing that was lawful before it.
Email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request” and describe what you need. We may ask for proportionate information to identify relevant records or verify authority before disclosing or deleting them. Please do not send a password, API key or identity document unless we have explained why it is necessary and arranged an appropriate way to provide it. We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. If we decline a request, you can reply asking us to reconsider or, where available, appeal. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority, including the UK ICO or the relevant EEA authority.
Children, security and changes
This is a general-audience publication about AI, not a service directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can assess and address it. A child's information should not be sent in a public correction request.
We use access controls and operational safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security. If you believe information or a credential has been exposed, email [email protected] without including the secret itself.
We may update this notice when the site or our practices change. The effective date above identifies this version. When law requires an additional notice or a new choice, we will provide it.
